DIY Laundry Room Redo

image

Two years ago my husband and I realized that our starter home was now too small for our growing family. We more than doubled our square footage simply because we got a great deal and we didn’t want to have to move again because a house was too small.

I will never understand why builders make these large homes yet make the laundry room the size of a Cracker Jack box. Now when we were looking at the house the Laundry Room seemed small but still ok until we put our new HE washer and dryer in.

All of a sudden the Laundry Room held the washer and drying and left only a small walkway from the entry door, pass the machines and to the garage. Continue reading

Beautiful Weighted Blanket

Most Children/people with Autism have sensory issues. These can vary from person to person. With my daughter, one of her sensory issues is that she needs more sensory input than most people. Giada is hypo sensitive to stimuli. She likes deep pressure. She is calmed by being held tightly.

Giada like a lot of children with Autism also has problems sleeping at night. It takes her a long time to fall asleep and also has trouble staying asleep. Our solution to help her sleep better was a weighted blanket.

I figured it would give her that pressure that she likes, keeping her calm, hopefully translating into a better nights sleep. Continue reading

Regrowing Produce

I saw this on Pinterest but didn’t really believe it… Until I tried it!!!

I grocery shop every week and spend the majority of the budget in the produce department.

Romain lettuce usually makes my list every other week during the winter months. Summer time we go through salad like crazy so it is a lot more than that.

Green Onions make the grocery list every 2-3 weeks.

It was only recently that I found out I was wasting money! Continue reading

What to expect…

Whats the point? The reason(s) I’m here talking for all to see…

I will talk about my kids A LOT! The happy times and stressful times. You’ll get it all.

Cooking- I am Gluten Intolerant and on a Gluten Free diet. My daughter Giada has an intolerance to dairy. For that reason and others I will get into later I have her on a Gluten Free and Casein Free diet. I plan to share favorite recipes and products. With dietary restrictions like this I know there will be times I will try something that doesn’t work. Ill share that too.

Organization- with a busy life, organization is the key. I use to call myself the most unorganized organized person ever but over the years and after the birth of each of my children my type A personality has little by little gone into overdrive. And dare I say it is my OCD side and anal retentive side that keeps my home in 1 piece.

Cleaning- having 2 kids (ages 3.5 and 1.5), a husband and a dog cleaning is an every hour thing.

Being Crafty- since becoming a Stay at Home Mom I have started to try and reach the crafty side of my personality… Making tutus for my daughter, projects for my son, DYI for the house and so on.

Weight loss- I have recently lost a bunch of weight. 51 lbs in the last few months, 60 lbs from my all time high. I will continue to document my weight loss here and Twitter.

And much much more.
